Jason & Tim I am in the finals of another money league. I was wanting your input as to who I should start considering matchups and weather conditions. Warner @ NE or Roethlisberger @ TEN

NE suck against the pass. even if its a little snowy and cold in Foxsboro, I would go with Warner. That might need to fling it if they are down. And its hard to bench a pro bowl qb throwing to 2 pro bowl WRs. But beware, last week the cards got blown out and warner got benched to rest. sligh chance that could happen again.

I might have to agree with Jason on this one. As bad as Warner has been TO-wise, lately, he has yet to throw under 235 yards since week 3, and he's thrown at least one TD in every game.

That said, I am a little concerned that Arizona sits players, as they've basically wrapped up the division and a first-round home playoff game, which is pretty much the best they can do, while PIT is playing for homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Big Ben looked decent against BAL last week, but with Haynesworth out, they may try to run more. I honestly might say to go with Big Ben since I'm not 100% sure ARI plays Warner all game.

Here's an article that might shed some light on the situation: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3775399

For what it's worth, I'm starting Warner in another league for the championship (only because Delhomme is my only other option).

I just realized that I said I agree with Jason and that I might start Big Ben, which is a complete contradiction. Final stance: I'm leaning towards Big Ben, but this is admittedly a tough call.

having had both of those players on my roster earlier in the year, I might have been in the same spot. I would have started Warner. Big Ben can disappear from the game plan and Warner's low will never be as bad as Roethlisburger's low. Listen to me (the person in our league championship) and go with warner.

which 2 would you start in league - slaton, jones-drew, or forte?

Jason, I don't disagree that Warner is the better fantasy option than Big Ben, I just worry that he won't play much because of ARI's playoff situation. If he plays the entire game, he's the better play.

As for your RB play, that's like asking if you'd rather drive a Mercedes, a Cadillac, or a BMW. Whatever you choose, you're going to be happy.

i agree that warner has a chance to sit out some during the game if it gets blown out in either direction. and depending on the rest of your team, you might need a high risk high yield play. but i wouldnt want to lose because i sat warner because he might get benched. you are right - tough call, but for the championship you gotta go with your top players.

What about picking up Shaun Hill and starting him against the rams?

The guy im playing, picked up and is starting Vargas over J. Stewart

I am going with big ben, pitt and tenn are trying to win homfield for the whole playoffs. That game means so much more than the Cards game. Over the lst 6 weeks in our league the points have been the same. So I am taking the bigger game with nicer weather, hopefully its the right move

good luck. seriously.

Well I did not start Warner or Big Ben. I started Hill from SF and he was projected at 19 and ended up at 23, so I am happy. My mistake is I took Kevin Smith out of my line up and put in D.Foster going against the Rams D. Smith scored 17 and Foster 5.7, with that all said I am down 6.40 points. Could have wrapped it up, but the great thing is I have Forte and the Bears D going tonight and my opponet has played everyone,so I am feeling pretty good about it.

did you win?

Shox4u said...

Yep, but not till the 4th quarter when forte got those 40yds rushing. At the end of the 3rd I was up 0.6 and if GB scored again I was done!

Hey, Jay, congrats on the championship. I'll give you a call later.
